How KwikPrint Revolutionised Printing at Thapar
Before KwikPrint, printing at Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (TIET), Patiala was a challenge every student knew all too well.
Submission week meant chaos.
The campus print shops would be packed with students carrying pendrives, waiting anxiously in long queues, hoping their turn would come before the submission deadline. What should have been a two-minute task often stretched into an hour-long ordeal. For students rushing between classes, labs, and project evaluations, this delay was more than just inconvenient—it was stressful.
Many students turned to alternatives like Blinkit and other delivery platforms. While convenient in theory, the reality was different. Delivery fees, surge pricing, and additional charges often meant paying two or even three times the actual cost of printing a few pages. For something as fundamental as printing an assignment, the experience felt unnecessarily expensive and inefficient.
We believed there had to be a better way.
That belief led to the launch of the first KwikPrint Smart Printing Kiosk at Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology.
Printing, Reimagined
Our vision was simple: make printing available 24x7, affordable, and completely hassle-free. Students could simply upload their documents through their phones, make the payment digitally, receive a secure OTP, and collect their prints within minutes—without waiting in queues or depending on delivery services.
For the first time, printing became something students didn't have to plan their day around.
The Impact in Just Three Months
The response from the campus exceeded every expectation. Within just three months of deployment, the kiosk had already become an integral part of student life.
• 2,200+ Students Served
• 3,300+ Print Jobs Completed
• 97% Successful Print Rate
• ₹60,000+ Revenue Generated
These weren't just numbers—they represented thousands of deadlines met, countless hours saved, and a significantly better printing experience for the Thapar community.
Perhaps the biggest validation came not from the statistics, but from the behaviour of the students themselves.
What initially started as curiosity quickly became a habit. Students began recommending KwikPrint to their friends, using it for assignments, lab records, internship applications, resumes, research papers, project reports, and every other document that demanded quick and reliable printing.
Instead of worrying about shop timings or standing in queues, printing became as simple as ordering a coffee or scanning a QR code.
For us, that was the real achievement.
KwikPrint wasn't just another printing service—it fundamentally changed how students interacted with printing.
Thapar: The Beginning of Something Bigger
The success of our first kiosk proved something much bigger.
The problems we solved at Thapar weren't unique to one campus. Every college, university, library, corporate office, and public workspace faces similar challenges: limited accessibility, long waiting times, dependence on staff, and inefficient workflows.
Thapar became our proving ground.
It demonstrated that autonomous printing wasn't just possible—it was practical, scalable, and something users genuinely preferred.
Today, every improvement we make to KwikPrint is inspired by the thousands of students who trusted our very first kiosk. Their feedback continues to shape our technology, helping us build a platform that goes beyond campuses and moves towards our larger vision.
Our goal isn't simply to install more kiosks.
Our goal is to redefine how India prints—making printing instant, accessible, affordable, and available whenever and wherever it's needed.
